A normal human characters Attributes are rated 1-6 and are adjusted up or down depending on modifiers like Cyberware, Metahuman ratings, or improperly healed damage.
ATTRIBUTES ATTRIBUTE RATINGS Physical: Body, Quickness, Strength 1 WEAK Mental: Intelligence, Willpower, Charisma 2 UNDERDEVELOPED Special: Essense, (Magic), Reaction 3 TYPICAL 4 IMPROVED Body: general health and resistance to injury. 5 SUPERIOR Quickness: overall dexterity & agility, also 6 MAXIMUM UNMODIFIED HUMAN sets movement, walking & running speeds. Strength: the ability to lift, carry, & cause physical damage.
Intelligence: overall quickness of mind, aptitude, and the ability to perceive surroundings. Knowledge is represented by skills, so a stupid character would have low skill ratings. and not necessarily low Intelligence. Willpower: determination, mental stability, and the will to resist certain kinds of mental and fatigue damage. Charisma: attractiveness (not necessarily physical beauty), persuasiveness, personal aura, and general likability.
Essence: is a measure of the soundness of the central nervous system and spirit. Invasive things, like Cyberware, reduce Essence, as well as improperly healed damage. When Essence declines Magic declines by the same amount. Essence always begins at 6. No character can start with Essence more then 6, if it falls below 0, the character dies. Magic: the measure of magical energy, Serious damage to the body and invasive additions such as Cyberware reduce magical energy. Characters with Magic always begin at 6, but is equal to Essence. A character that can not use magic has no magic rating. Reaction: determines how quickly and how often a character can act under pressure. The reaction rating is the average of Quickness and Intelligence, rounded down
No character can start with any attribute greater then their Racial Maximum:
